Pocketful of Change V: She put a penny on the railroad track Steel wheels crushed that penny flat She picked up the copper it was hot, but She put that penny in her pocket She walked along the tracks back home She’s got a pocketful of change V: She flipped a nickel in the wishing well Watched it spin around as it fell So deep she didn’t hear it hit the water She just kept on wishing harder She closed her eyes and wished away She wants a pocketful of change B: Faith is blind and luck is dumb Praying’s fine but cussing’s fun She knows exactly where she’s from But not exactly where she’s going She’s just knowing that she needs a little change V: She slid a dime into the slot Turned the handle to see what she got It’s just a little prize but it’s something new Reminds her of a girl that she once knew That laughed and sang and ran and played With a pocketful of change V: She put a quarter in the meter She hope’s an hour is all she’ll need Time is precious ‘cause it ‘s all she’s got ‘cept for some coins on the shelf in a coffee pot Coins she’s saving for a rainy day When she’ll need a pocketful of change B: Faith is blind and luck is dumb Praying’s fine but cussing’s fun She knows exactly where she’s from But not exactly where she’s going She’s just knowing that she needs a little change V: She put a penny on the railroad track Steel wheels crushed that penny flat A penny ain’t worth much these days She thought about letting that penny lay But she picked it up and walked on home She’s got a pocketful of change Pocket full of change Pocket full of change Pocket full of change

Gomez 03:15
Gomez V. Gomez sits at the corner table His hair is black and shiny like the top of the table He points to his glass and Sheila brings him another She says “sorry to hear”, and he nods and he smiles Ch. He hums… My love is a painted rose A china doll with a broken nose A paper cup that is full of holes My love, my sweet, sweet love V. Lila sits next to Gomez in the booth in the corner Her tears shine reflected from the top of the table She huddles in closer to force him to hold her She always feels cold, and he always warms her Ch. She sings… My love is long stem rose A porcelain doll with a pretty white nose A champagne glass with a stem that holds My love, my sweet sweet love B. In this part of town bars are for windows In this part of town you drink to remember In this part of town you wish you’d forget The faces you wish you could remember V. Gomez nods bye to Sheila and tips her a twenty He grabs Lila’s hand and pulls her up from the table With his eyes he vows that this is the last time With their eyes they bury this place and move on Ch. They sing Our love is autumn rose A baby doll that has no clothes Save the next glass for someone with something to lose Our love, our sweet sweet love Our love, our sweet sweet love. She Stood 05:08
She Stood Verse: She stood on the rock and sang She sang and strummed her guitar On that rock, she made her stand No one else was watching Her voice cried loud and long Swept by the four winds Carried far across the sky She stood on the rock and sang Verse: She stood on the rock and sang She sang and strummed her guitar The chords filled up the river And flowed like fingers reaching Waving through the stream Streaming to the sea Splashing on the bank She stood on the rock and sang B: Will anybody hear? Will anybody feel? Will anybody see? That some things should be sacred She stood on the rock and sang Verse: She stood on the rock and sang She sang and strummed her guitar Every strum became a drum To summon all her people Rhythm met the land Trembled through the earth Beat into the bones She stood on the rock and sang B: Can you hear? Can you feel? Can you see? That everything is sacred She stood on the rock and sang Verse: She stood on the rock and sang She sang and strummed her guitar On the stone where the earth and sky And the river asked for safety Her voice cried loud and long Swept by the four winds Carried far across the sky Rumbling through the ground Flowing in the river’s current She stood on the rock and sang She stood on the rock and sang She stood on the rock and sang

Santa Fe 03:12
Santa Fe Verse: She couldn’t take another day Of the sunny and the warm After all, it was December And she needed to see some snow She packed up her Toyota With her guitar, her clothes and games Took I-15 to I-40, up 25 to Santa Fe Verse: She couldn’t take another minute Of LA’s endless summer winters She needs the changing of the seasons To feel that time is passing by Adios Jose and Margarita Goodbye to Jennifer and Dave She loves the people, hates the traffic She’s heading back to Santa Fe Bridge: She just never felt at home She couldn’t help but feel alone Where boys never grow up to be men They just spend Their days and nights looking off towards the ocean Verse: She couldn’t take another second Waiting for the light to change She needs a higher altitude She’s heading home to Santa Fe She knows that she’ll be good At least OK in Santa Fe

Body 02:29
Body If you find my body let it burn Give the ashes to the ground Stick your shovel in the soil and turn Till it ‘til it turns to gold Let the gold turn into green Let the green reach to the sky Let the sky warm the leaves Let the leaves wither and die Let the leaves turn to seed Let the seed drop to the soil Let the birds take those seeds Far away from where I toiled Let there come another day Another night, another way The sky will blue, the sky will grey The seeds will swallow up the rain Maybe someday this will end And we will lose all we have learned Promise me as you live and breathe If you find my body let it burn If you find my body let it burn
